Station 66 “Keepers of the Mother Road” Tee
History of Station 66
Tulsa Fire Station 30 is the only one along Tulsa's section of Route 66 and was also there during the active years of Route 66 before the highway was decommissioned in 1985. Since the establishment of the station in 1975, it's had many people from all over the world pass by on their way through Tulsa while traveling the historic road. With the current excitement and revitalization efforts towards historic Route 66, we are excited for the rededication ceremony. After the event, the station will become
Tulsa Fire Station 66. All involved hope it will not only serve as a remembrance of, but also honor to Route 66 for many years to come.
